This interactive case-based session challenges participants to go beyond basic crime classification and engage with the real-world complexity of incidents that sit at the intersection of multiple compliance frameworks. Using detailed scenarios—such as hazing allegations involving fraternities, virtual harassment in student organizations, and misconduct implicating Title IX and Title VI—attendees will work through how to classify and disclose incidents that may require action under Clery, the Campus Hazing Transparency Report (CHTR), conduct processes, and more.
Participants will not only determine the proper Clery crime classification, but also:
• Decide whether the incident warrants inclusion in the Daily Crime Log, Timely Warning, or Emergency Notification;
• Consider reporting implications for the CHTR and Annual Security Report (ASR), if applicable;
• Draft brief rationale statements to justify their decisions—mirroring the kind of documentation that builds a defensible audit trail.

Two identical Advanced Track sessions will be held on Thursday during the conference. Attendees may choose to participate in either the morning or afternoon sessions at no additional cost.
