About NACCOP Membership Structure:

The membership of NACCOP is composed of administrators and Clery compliance officers working for colleges and universities throughout the United States. An institution must first acquire an Institutional membership which gives membership benefits only to the listed primary contact on the institution’s account. Once an institution has an active Institutional membership, then anyone else employed by the institution can purchase a NACCOP Professional membership for only $125 annually or a Committee membership (Up to 10 people -$600 annually). See below for more details.

An institution of higher education is defined as a college or university that has its own President/Chancellor (or position with an alternate title but serves in a similar capacity) leading the organization. Typically, a college or university will have its own OPE ID number and its own listing in the Campus Safety and Security Data Analysis Collection Tool (available at https://ope.ed.gov/campussafety/#/

Please consult our Membership Policies for more information.

Institutional Membership ($475/year)

The Institutional membership gives membership benefits only to the listed primary contact on the institution’s account. If you need to change the primary contact, please contact info@naccop.org

Institutional Membership can be assigned to any employee of an institution of higher education that participates in Title IV, student financial assistance programs (and is required by Federal Law to comply with the Clery Act).

Institutional membership does not provide benefits to other individuals at the institution. If other individuals at the institution are seeking membership or benefits (i.e. member discount prices on programs or services), they must become a Professional Member of the association.

Institutions that are part of a “system” must purchase an institutional membership for each college/university within the system that is an independently accredited institution or that has its own President/Chancellor, etc. (even if the system has one Board of Trustees/Regents). Typically, a college or university will have its own OPE ID number and its own listing in the Campus Safety and Security Data Analysis Collection Tool (available at https://ope.ed.gov/campussafety/#/.) This policy regarding a system applies even in situations where multiple institutions in a system are under a shared governance model.

Professional Membership ($125/year)

Once the institution has an active Institutional Membership, additional employees of the institution can register as a professional member of NACCOP. This could include but is not limited to employees in the offices of: Student Conduct, Student Affairs, Human Resources, Housing/Residential Life, Title IX, General Counsel/Legal Affairs, Compliance and Risk Management.

NACCOP staff conduct a periodic audit of membership categories, and if an individual signed up to become a Professional Member and their institution does not have an Institutional Membership, the Professional Member will be invoiced the cost difference ($350) between the two categories of membership.

Committee Membership (Institutional Membership + $600/year)

Once a campus has an Institutional Membership ($475), your Clery Compliance Committee is able to expand your membership by adding up to 10 additional people for an additional $600 as part of a Committee Membership. Each committee member receives NACCOP membership benefits. If the institution wants to add more than 10 committee members, the cost will be $60 per person beyond the $600 base price for the Committee Membership and the $475 base price for the Institutional Membership.

Committee memberships are designed to provide an additional benefit for Institutional Members by offering a membership price reduction for Clery Compliance Committee members who work at/for a single institution. This means individuals applying for a Committee Membership must be employed by the same institution, as defined as above in the Institutional Membership section. A Committee Membership is not available to System Offices that hold an Institutional Membership. It is only available to individual Colleges or Universities that hold an Institutional Membership.

Committee membership can result in valuable savings — up to $650 depending on the size of the committee (relative to the cost of adding 10 Professional Memberships).

If your institution has an existing Institutional Membership and you’d like to add a Committee Membership, email info@naccop.org or select the “Add a Committee Membership to an Existing Institutional Membership” button. Please note that no refunds will be issued for current professional members who become part of a “committee membership”—these members will be transferred into the committee upon request.

System Office Personnel

If all institutions affiliated with the System Office are Institutional Members of NACCOP, NACCOP will offer one complimentary Professional Membership to a staff member from the System Office. Under these circumstances, if the System Office would like to have more than one employee who works at or for the System Office join NACCOP, they can purchase additional Professional Memberships.

If some, but not all institutions affiliated with the System Office are Institutional Members of NACCOP, the System Office will be permitted to purchase an Institutional Membership. If the System Office would like to have more than one employee who works at or for the System Office as a member of NACCOP, they can purchase additional Professional Memberships.

System Offices are not permitted to purchase a Committee Membership.

System Offices are not permitted to purchase Professional Memberships under their System Institutional Membership for employees who work for or at one of the component institutions affiliated with the System. Institutions affiliated with a System are required to purchase their own Institutional Membership.

However, if a System Office desires to pay for component institution memberships (Institutional or Professional) in a single invoice,  a System Office representative should email info@naccop.org to arrange special billing.

NACCOP staff conduct a periodic audit of membership categories, and if a System Office or individual campus has violated these policies, the System Office and/or individual campus involved will be invoiced for the appropriate cost difference between the categories of membership.

Contact info@naccop.org if you have any questions about the System Office membership policies.
