Clery Compliance Awareness Week is a chance for you to help educate your campus community about what it means to comply with the Clery Act.
Upcoming Clery Compliance Awareness Weeks
- October 6-10, 2025
- October 5-9, 2026
NACCOP recognizes the important value that Clery Compliance Officers and Professionals contribute to their institutions. This is an opportunity for you to share some of your knowledge with your colleagues and campus community. This is also an opportunity to educate the campus community about the importance of remaining in compliance and how they can be partners in that effort. This week follows the deadline for distributing the Annual Security Report (and Annual Fire Safety Report, if applicable) to your students and employees and provides a timely opportunity to highlight the importance of the report.

NACCOP believes that Clery Compliance Officers and Professionals add tremendous value to their institutions. However, other campus departments may not understand the importance of maintaining compliance with the Clery Act. Taking time to educate your colleagues and students about the security and safety of the campus is of utmost importance and we believe that doing this following the publication and distribution of the Annual Security Report (and Annual Fire Safety Report) will only enhance the safety of the campus community. The ASR and AFSR are not just about statistics, but they provide an explanation of more than 115 institutional policies and procedures that are designed to enhance transparency and promote campus safety. Whether a laptop is stolen or someone is assaulted, it is imperative that members of your community know what to do, who to call, and what to expect once they file a report. Finally, taking an opportunity to educate your colleagues will undoubtedly assist with building relationships that can enhance the institution’s ability to maintain compliance moving forward.
To help members increase awareness of campus safety and security and the availability of the ASR and AFSR, NACCOP will create several resources that will be available for use at your institution. Many of the resources can be tailored to meet the needs of your campus.
