Description
On February 4, the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) issued a “Dear Colleague” letter to institutions of higher education regarding enforcement of the Title IX regulations. Specifically, the letter reaffirms that OCR will enforce the first Trump administration’s Title IX rule instead of the Biden administration’s Title IX rule. Meanwhile, the Education Department’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) has been issuing guidance reminding recipients of their obligation to ensure compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Furthermore, OCR recently announced numerous resolution agreements concerning violations of Title VI, an area in which OCR has been sharpening its focus.
